Our students enjoy attending Chapel at the beginning of each month.
Our student-led Chapel includes a time of worship and devotion, followed by mentor teachers honoring students with Character Awards based on their growth in different areas. Parents are always encouraged to attend and take part in this monthly time of fellowship.
All School Campus Events
Below is a sample of events Heart students have enjoyed in the past:
Class Parties & Theme Days
On our campuses, students celebrate holidays and special days (Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day) with parent-organized parties in their classrooms. They also enjoy special days to honor Mom and Dad, as well as fun-filled dress-up days throughout the year to fit a given theme (50’s Day, Crazy Hair/Socks Day, Sports Day, etc.)
Students tap into their musical abilities by auditioning for their campus worship team. Working closely with a Worship mentor, students meet regularly to rehearse, share a time of devotion, and prepare to lead the academy at the monthly chapel. Guitar, keyboard, ukulele, percussion, and vocals all blend beautifully and bless our community.
Our students are offered a yearbook each academic year, utilizing pictures submitted from each family and organized in part by a parent as part of their campus Heart of Service, alongside of a volunteer yearbook coordinator. We also host yearly photos of both the individual student as well as the classes by grade, similar to the traditional experience.
Local field trips are available to Heart students and their families, usually reflecting or enhancing our Literature, History and Science studies or simply designed to build community! All field trips are optional but add an enriching element to the homeschool experience.
Our 6th – 8th graders experience science in the field through a camp experience each spring. We rotate every other year between Catalina Island and our local mountains, allowing for student labs in both settings.
