ACADEMICS WITH INTENT
Heart provides lesson planning and instructional support in four core areas: Math, Science, World/US History (or basic Social Studies in the youngest grades), and Language Arts, plus daily Bible lessons.
The lesson plan for each week directs parents for their home days, and allows them to see and follow along with what is being taught during on-campus days. This allows families flexibility within the structure of our programs. Our Education team curates annual curriculum lists for each grade level and develops the accompanying lesson plans for use on-campus and at home. Each piece of the curriculum is considered for its ability to transition from “classroom to kitchen table” as we realize it is used in both learning environments. BIBLE | MATHEMATICS | SCIENCE | HISTORY | LANGUAGE ARTS BIBLE | MATHEMATICS | SCIENCE HISTORY | LANGUAGE ARTS Our distinctive combination of classroom and home-based instruction optimizes academic success for children of every different temperament and learning style
BibleOur daily devotional-style Bible lessons reflect on Christ, highlight His word, and bring glory to who He is. Because of our use of faith-based curriculum, the opportunities to discover new truths about our Savior are ripe!
MathematicsMany parents’ fears about homeschooling stem directly from their insecurities about teaching Math. Our Math curriculum is selected for homeschooling and is scripted to provide the parent an easy road map to follow. Additionally, our mentor teachers understand parents’ concerns in this area and organize the lesson planning to ensure tricky topics are covered during on-campus days.
ScienceCan a person be both a Bible believer and a scientific thinker? Absolutely! Experiments, dissections and multi-step projects make science facts come alive at Heart. Our creation-based curriculum challenges students to go beyond memorization to the application of scientific approaches in the study of biology, chemistry, earth and physical sciences.
HistoryStudents need to go beyond boring memorization of historical facts in order to grasp the real consequences of our past and the lessons that can be learned from them. We approach History from a decidedly Christian perspective, incorporating the Bible's influence on historical events wherever possible.
Language ArtsEncompassing the areas of Writing, Literature, Grammar/Vocabulary, and in the younger grades Reading and Handwriting Skills, the broad area of Language Arts rounds out Heart's core studies program.
