ACADEMICS WITH INTENT
We offer a Christian liberal arts and sciences education that draws from a variety of publishers to provide a broad, high-quality curriculum. Our Education Team curates annual curriculum lists for each grade level and develops accompanying lesson plans for use on campus and at home. Lesson plans provide daily assignments and projects with step-by-step instructions. These lesson plans guide both our teachers in the classroom and parents at home, so learning is aligned from the campus to the kitchen table.
Heart curriculum focuses on four core areas: Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies/History, along with daily Bible lessons. Heart strives to meet or exceed state and national academic standards.

Bible
Lesson plans include daily Bible instruction that is centered on knowing the person and work of God, learning the scriptures, and developing a daily relationship. We desire students to trust and treasure Jesus Christ through a clear understanding of the gospel and its power and relevance for all of life.
Language Arts
Language Arts includes the areas of Writing, Literature, Grammar/Vocabulary, and in the younger grades Reading and Handwriting Skills, to develop students who are literate and articulate.
WRITING
Our mentor teachers and parents work together to help students refine their writing skills. Structure and style, fiction, non-fiction, real-world writing and poetry of all types are covered in a grade-appropriate manner, and both summary and critical analysis skills are emphasized as writing matures.
LITERATURE
Heart emphasizes reading and analyzing original works of classic and modern literature rather than literature textbooks. Our hybrid schedule allows students the time to read far more books than would be possible in a traditionally scheduled school.
GRAMMAR
Our rigorous and consistent grammar curriculum builds on the basics year after year. These skills which are frequently overlooked in traditional programs improve student writing, allow for more insightful editing and criticism of written work, and provide amazing preparation for assessment.
VOCABULARY
Heart teaches the Greek and Latin roots upon which much of our language is built, ensuring that a child's usable vocabulary both expands and is well understood.

Mathematics
Many parents’ fears about homeschooling stem directly from their insecurities about teaching Math. Our Math curriculum is selected for homeschooling and is scripted to provide the parent an easy road map to follow. Lesson plans are organized so that Mentor Teachers cover tricky topics during campus days, allowing home days to largely focus on practice and reinforcement.
Science
Can a person be both a Bible-believer and a scientific thinker? Absolutely! Experiments, dissections, and multi-step projects make science facts come alive at Heart. Our investigation into God's creation challenges students to go beyond memorization to the application of scientific approaches in the study of biology, chemistry, earth, and physical sciences.
social studies/History
We approach History from a decidedly Christian perspective, focusing not only on the actions of mankind, but on God's faithful and unfolding work. We help students grasp the real consequences of our past and the lessons that must be learned.
