Each Two Day program enjoys their own Chapel on the first Monday or Tuesday of the month and HSP families are encouraged to join in. Our student-led Chapel includes a time of worship and devotion, followed by teachers honoring students with Character Awards based on their growth in different areas. One class develops and performs a skit each month to model what they've learned from our study of the Bible that month.
All School Campus Events
Below is a sample of events our Two Day students have enjoyed in the past. All events are available to HSP students as well if parent volunteers wish to participate:
Class Parties & Theme Days
Two Day classes celebrate holidays and special days (Christmas, Easter, and Valentine’s Day) with parent-organized parties in their classrooms. HSP families are encouraged to organize similar events if parent support is available. Two Day students also enjoy fun-filled dress-up days throughout the year to fit a given theme (50’s Day, Crazy Hair Day, etc.)
A wide variety of classes are offered after school from Mondays to Thursdays from 3:00pm – 4:00pm. Options such as self defense, music lessons, ballet, chess, science, art and much more are available to all students and priced individually. We also offer off-campus elective classes on Fridays such as golf and horseback riding.
Our monthly field trips are available to all Heart students and their families, usually reflecting or enhancing our Literature, History and Science studies or simply designed to build community! All field trips are optional but add an enriching element to the home school experience.
We are proud to announce our yearbooks have won awards annually from nationally recognized Entourage Yearbook Company, including the Grand Prize for the 2013-14 volume! We are very honored and proud of all the students in our Photography and Graphic Design - Yearbook elective classes!
Every Two Day student will receive a yearbook on the last day of school which is provided as a portion of the registration fee. HSP students can purchase the yearbook for a small fee.
Through a Christian company called Mountain & Sea Adventures, our 6th – 8th graders can experience science in the field. We rotate every other year between Catalina and local mountains, allowing for student labs in both settings.
