Field Trips:
San Diego Zoo Fall 2011 - Docent-Led with Animal Encounters
Classroom Activities:
5th Grade - Papier mache balloon-making accompanies the reading assignment The 21 Balloons by William Pene du Bois.
Kindergarten - One day a week the day begins with worship in song, both days include lots of learning and fun.
On Campus Events:
Thanksgiving / Pot Bless 2011 - Students are treated to a Thanksgiving Feast at lunchtime. Pilgrim/Indian dress is allowed in lieu of uniform on this day.
Acts of Service:
Kids Around The World - In December 2011, HEART students and families partnered with Kids Around The World to package food purposed for the nourishment of impoverished children in Haiti.
Operation Christmas Child - During the Samaritan's Purse Annual National Collection Drive, all HEART students are encouraged to donate shoeboxes filled with gifts to be delivered to children worldwide via the Operation Christmas Child program. Older grades are given the opportunity to prepare the packed shoeboxes for shipment at a local Samaritan's Purse warehouse facility.
