First through Eigth graders study History in a four year cycle, with all grades
studying the same time period in the same year. The four years are broken down as follows:
Ancients: 5000 B.C. - A.D. 400
Medieval/Early Renaissance:
400 - 1600
Late Renaissance/Early Modern:1600 -1850
Modern: 1850 - Present (2008-09
school year)
Examples of Courses:
- My Father's World curriculum is used in Kindergarten and First Grade.
- Singapore Math is used in Second and Third Grade.
- Saxon Math is used in Fourth through Eigth Grade.
- American history is studied using The Mighty Works of God series and How
America Grew.
- Analytical Grammar is used in Sixth through Eigth Grade.
- All grades use the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) program.
- Literature books are selected for each grade level and coincide with the time period being
studied in History.
- Science is studied in a four-year cycle focusing on Biology, Earth Science, Physics, and Chemistry.
- Our Junior High program includes Christian Worldview and Spanish.
