Heart Christian Academy
Heart Christian Academy is located in San Juan Capistrano, on the beautiful campus of Mariners Church Ocean Hills.
Our purpose is to guide and support parents in their journey to educate and grow their children in the Lord. Heart offers a successful Christ-centered home school model and community that produces well-educated young people who are equipped to be used by God. Our unique programs provide parents with tools and guidance to teach their children and train them to take increasing responsibility over their academic progress.
The following statements define our culture at Heart and we ask that parents considering enrollment in HCA ensure these statements describe their family as well.
We believe there is only one God who eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit. Man is sinful and therefore separated from God, who alone is holy and perfect. Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sin through His death on the cross. Jesus also bodily resurrected, ascended into heaven and will return one day to establish His Kingdom. Our salvation from eternal separation from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ and His provision of salvation. This salvation allows us to enter into God's family and receive eternal life. The Bible, comprised of the Old and New Testaments alone, is the inerrant and authoritative Word of God and is the supreme source of truth for the Christian faith and life. A Christian lifestyle should reflect biblically appropriate personal and family relationships, business and legal conduct, and moral behavior in accordance with the truths outlined above. Marriage is defined by the Bible as a union between one man and one woman and is the only relational context in which sexual activity is appropriate. A person’s gender identity is fixed by God at conception and is determined by biology and not by one’s self-perception.
Heart Christian Academy is striving to be the leading home schooling institution in Orange County, producing professional and spiritual leaders for the world we live in.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. - Romans 12:2
Our mission is to build an educational system which fosters both spiritual growth and academic excellence. We desire to come alongside parents in their effort to disciple and educate their children at home. Our parents and staff work together to choose a distinctive curriculum, rich in both Christian worldview and solid scholastic emphasis. We hope to inspire students to become godly leaders in their home, church, community and work place.
You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. - Deuteronomy 11:19
Who We Are
Our parents are dedicated followers of Jesus who are called to home schooling. They are active in the Heart community through the use of their gifts, passions and experience to enhance the success of the program, and they submit to Heart guidelines and leadership.
Our students are respectful and Godly and committed to developing their gifts. They appreciate and embrace the responsibilities associated with home schooling and are cooperative, cohesive and supportive.
Our teachers are Christ-centered, passionate educators who help foster a love for learning in our children. They dynamically apply curriculum to bring subjects to life and inspire our children to strive for excellence and become self-governing individuals.
Our curriculum is academically challenging, supportive of a biblical worldview, and yet flexible enough to allow for a multi-track system. It strives to encourage and foster a love for learning and to maximize individual student growth from year to year.
We expect all parents, children, teachers and staff to commit to a cooperative community in which each party fulfills their roles as defined in our Parent & Student Handbook.
